It’s the sturgeon moon today. Lots of fish in the river. And in the sky, with the Perseids. And so what? The full moon is supposed to be a time of abundance, in contrast to the dark and growing connotations of the new moon. The meteorological equivalent of a plant’s growth cycle, essentially. Grow in darkness, bloom in light.

Does it help to launch a new creative project under a full moon? Absolutely… especially if you wouldn’t have otherwise. Whatever gets you moving helps. Humans are the world’s chroniclers. We thrive on ritual and we have a deep craving to mark the days.
